Day
1
On
the first day of October 14, 2019 we gathered in front of the orange building
at 7 o'clock to distribute ID cards, luggage tags and refreshments, while
waiting for the bus to come to campus.
At
8 o'clock we left the campus and headed to Toraja. During the trip we do the
guiding in accordance with the material that has been distributed.
At
12 pm we arrived at Kupa Beach restaurant in Barru for lunch and Dhuhur prayers
and for rest. At Kupa Beach we were welcomed with a fresh welcome drink and the
food it served was also very good. After lunch we also continue the trip to
Toraja and also continued the guiding.
At
4 pm we stopped in Bambapuang to rest. In Bambapuang we enjoyed a coffee break
and we can see amazing views, one of which is the famous Mount Nona in Enrekang
district. The view is very beautiful and the air is cool so we can relax our
body for a moment before continuing the trip.
Furthermore we also left Bambapuang and continued the trip to Toraja. 2 hours passed and we arrived at the Indra Toraja hotel which is the hotel that we will occupy while in Toraja. Arriving at the hotel we also checked in and got ready for dinner. We had dinner at the Ayam penyet ria restaurant, the location was very close to the hotel so we just walked. We finished the dinner and continued with the evening evaluation. After that we returned to the hotel to take a rest.
Day
2
On
our second day in Toraja 15 October 2019, we started our activities at 5.00 am.
we did a morning call and got ready for breakfast. We had breakfast at the
hotel and the food served was very good. After breakfast, we prepared to go to
our field trip destination in Toraja.
The
first is timenbayo, at Timenbayo we can see a beautiful scenery from the high.
Then from Timenbayo we continued our journey to loko mata. At the Lokomata we
can see a stone grave. A grave made on a rock cliff that has been perforated,
Toraja tribe does not bury people who have died on the ground because the
Toraja tribe considers the land a sacred place.
In
the Lokomata, besides we can see the grave, we can also feel the cool air.
After that we did soft tracking to mentirotiku.
Then
we continued on to Mentirotiku restaurant for lunch. In this restaurant, the
menu served is brown rice and papiong. And it was all very good. This food is
also a special food that we must try when we are in Toraja. In mentirotiku
restaurant we can also see a very beautiful view that can spoil the eyes with
the green plants and rice fields that are there.
After
that we used the bus and headed to the start point of the Lempo. Arriving at
the Lempo star point we continued tracking to Bori. The trip is very exciting
like passing through the rice field. We also stopped at several residents
houses and saw how to make carving, saw the gravestones of the Toraja tribe,
and also the baby graves. Toraja baby graves are different from the graves of
adults. A baby who passed away buried in a Tarra tree. Babies buried in the
Tarra tree are babies who do not yet have teeth that are considered still
sacred. Tarra tree was chosen as a baby grave because this type of tree has a
lot of sap which is considered as a substitute for breast milk. By burying the
baby in a Tarra tree as if returning the baby to the mother's womb.
Next
we continued our trip by bus to Todi. At Todi we can see how to weave and what
materials are used.
After
that we headed back to the hotel and prepared for dinner.
At
08.00 pm we gathered in the lobby to go to the Ayam Penyet Ria restaurant for
dinner. After dinner we continued evening evaluation. After that we returned to
the hotel to take a rest.
Day 3
On
the third day of October 16 2019, we started our activities at 05.00 am with
morning calls and prepared for breakfast. We did breakfast at Indra Toraja
hotel. After breakfast we checked out and got ready to go to Makassar. Before
leaving the hotel, we took a picture together.
After
that we walked to the market because the distance is not too far from the
hotel, for those who want to buy souvenirs. After that we got on the bus to go
back to Makassar. Then we stopped at the lakipadada statue in the makale
roundabout which is a statue of the hero of toraja.
At
09.30 am we stopped in Bambapuang in Enrekang Regency to enjoy coffee break.
After the coffee break we got on the bus and continued on to Teras Empang in
Pare-pare for lunch.
At Teras Empang Restaurant the food served is very delicious. The restaurant's terrace is the unique restaurants with a shape like a boat and also we can see the view of the hill from a distance. After lunch we returned to continue the trip.
We also stopped at the Idaman restaurant in Maros for dinner. After dinner we left the restaurant and headed back to the Makassar tourism polytechnic campus.
Then the Nature Field Trip ended this time.
Well
that's my experience during Nature Field Trip in Toraja that a very unforgettable.
